Single Sign-on Services
This project sets out to provide an authentication framework that is interoperable across portals and applications in the global VO, based on IVOA standards. In particular, we want to provide users with a single login name and password that works with any VO compatible application, portal, or service.
This effort is being managed within the NVO people under the Grid and Web Services WBS. The primary people working on this are:
- Ray Plante (NCSA)
- Bill Baker (NCSA)
Users may create logins via the NVO Identity Portal. Users typically "log in" to the VO by visiting an NVO SSO-compliant portal. These currently include:
To enable NVO logins for a portal, one installs a Portal toolkit. Current documentation for this is available at http://mywiki.ncsa.uiuc.edu/wiki/NVO_SSO.
